The nearby 15"
gauge Bure Valley Railway had a special guest locomotive from a gala
weekend. This engine, Hercules, is from the
Rommney, Hythe, and Dymchurch Railway in Kent. Grandad took me
on a few trips on this railway and its possible that either he or
the both of us rode behind this engine. |

My Aunt and

and always barks when you're getting ready to park the car! |

The last few days were spent in
London. On the way down we stopped and saw my father's cousin
and her husband. What could be better then tea and cakes in
the garden? Here we all are! |

Outbound at the new Heathrow Terminal 5. Nope, this
isn't our plane but there were a bunch of 747s near the
departure gate and I like them. |

September 24, 2008 |
Flew on a 777 leaving
Philadelphia, this is the ride home, a 737. This is the second
plane, the first one had some mechanical issues resulting in a long
delay. Good flight back, but thanks to traffic in the states
it took a bit longer to get home. |

 |
May 2003 |
Shortly after I
graduated from grad school, my parents and I visited the UK. After
landing at Heathrow, we visited a family friend in North
London. While Dad visited, Mom and I walked around a bit. I found this maintenance depot for the
Underground nearby. |

We stayed about
3 weeks with my Aunt and Uncle in Norfolk. Often joined by my
Auntie Linda, I went cycling in the countryside around the village
of Erpingham where my relatives live. My Aunt took a
picture of me with a road sign for the village. |

after hours of waiting in line. |

In the days
before electricity, cable cars, or even steam locomotives, horses
were often used. This is a display of an early
London "tram" at the London Transport Museum. |
|
 |
June 6, 2003 |
The day before
we were due to head home, I was fortunate enough to catch the
departure of a steam special from London's Euston station.
"Princess Elizabeth" hauled a special train to Liverpool. An
English enthusiast was kind enough to take a photo of me with the
engine. |
|
 |
June 6, 2003 |
"Corky Liz," moves away to couple to her train on an
adjoining platform. There were many other enthusiasts nearby
as this event is rather rare. |
